Lorna Marcia Davies Schow passed from this world on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Her daughter, Marian Payne, and granddaughter, Cally Payne were at her side when she breathed her last. She was born in Cleveland, OH and was a graduate of Shaw High School. She survived her husband Robert B. Schow (1920-1992) after 50 years of marriage. During retirement years, they were volunteer rangers at Zion National Park and worked to establish Grace Episcopal Church in St. George, UT.
Lorna Schow was the beloved mother of five children, Kathryn M. Pipis of Longmont, CO, Margaret A. Smith of Glastonbury, CT, Robert D. Schow of San Francisco, CA, and twins Marian E. Payne of Wheaton, IL and Thomas A. Schow of Chattanooga, TN. She had eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Lucas of Massachusetts and Leila Singelis of Maryland. She loved to be with her family anywhere for any occasion. She was an avid reader and loved music.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 12 at 4:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, 1310 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be directed to Grace Episcopal Church, 1072 E. 900 S., St. George, UT 84790. Lorna Schow will be buried with her husband Robert in the columbarium at Grace Episcopal Church.
