Lois C. Worley, age 91, passed away in Naperville, Illinois, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. She was born November 8, 1934, in Richmond, Virginia, to Leon Ivy & Julia Elizabeth Cox, the ninth of ten children.

Lois attended William Fox Elementary School and James H. Binford Junior High, then graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1952. Over the next four years she took courses at Washington Bible College. She was then married to L. Daryle Worley in Richmond on August 30, 1957, and they celebrated fifty-seven wedding anniversaries together before his death in 2015.

Lois worked for a time at the Braille Circulating Library in Richmond, then for an Ear/Nose/Throat physician before serving in a range of secretarial roles at various colleges and universities in Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio where Daryle was on the music faculty. She also served as the executive assistant to a hospital administrator in Ohio before they returned to Georgia where she lived for thirty-five years. In 1998, Lois fulfilled a lifelong dream of graduating from college; she earned an A.A. from North Georgia Technical College.

She is survived by her children Bonnie (Norm) Crocker and Daryle (Jean) Worley, Jr.; her grandchildren Kyle (Nadine) Crocker, Ryan (Rebecca) Crocker, Erin (Derek) Gute, Ross (Rachel Mothersbaugh) Crocker, and Evan (Jessica) Crocker; Natalie (Mark) Knight, Nicole (Collin) Welch, Daryle, III (Maggie) Worley, and Noelle (fiancé Noah Reimer) Worley; her 19 great-grandchildren; and her brother Jack (Judy) Cox. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, her parents, and her siblings: Edward (the late Audrey) Cox, Ivy (the late Marjorie) Cox,  Evelyn (the late Ken) Marken, Rosalie (the late Emmett) Wade, A.B. "Bee" (the late Irene) Cox, Jane (the late Everett) Kier, George (the late Gloria) Cox and Edith Cox.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Church of DuPage, 27W344 Galusha Ave., Warrenville, IL 60555, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. The entombment will take place at Stephens County Memorial Gardens, in Toccoa, GA on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
