Lois Warrens, age 84, died Friday, September 9, in Vero Beach, FL where she had been visiting since May of this year. A resident of Wheaton since 1945, she had moved to Windsor Park in Carol Stream in 2007.
Lois was born in Sheboygan, WI, On January 23, 1927 to Martin P Warrens and Rose, nee Wolf, Warrens. The family moved to Chicago during the Depression where she graduated from Lakeview High School before attending Wheaton College, graduating in 1949.
Lois owned and operated Christian Supply Centre in Chicago for almost 40 years while at the same time teaching English at Fenton High School in Bensonville. She was a long standing member of the Wheaton Bible Church where she taught Sunday School and was a youth sponsor. In retirement, she traveled all over the world.
She is survived by brother Dan Warrens of Aurora, sister Judy Morgan of New York City, niece Kim Sawyer of Glouchester, MA, nephew Nic Warrens attending U of I, nephews Ted and Andy Morgan, both of New York City, nephew Chris Morgan of Annapolis, MD and 9 great-nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will always remember her for her generous spirit, sincere faith, loyal friendship, loving smile and her courage against a lifetime of physical adversity.
Visitation will be at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, Thursday, September 15, from noon to 2 pm. The funeral will follow there at 2 pm. Burial will be in Sheboygan on Friday, Sept 16.
