LoAnn B. Balow, age 78, a resident of The Holmstad in Batavia and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She was born on March 16, 1932 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Ervin and Viola Seem.
On May 22, 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Balow at the First Lutheran Church of Eau Claire. She was active in the churches that they attended, serving as a Sunday School teacher, singing in the choir, and playing the piano and organ. For many years she was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wheaton and recently has been a member of the Batavia Covenant Church.
Above all else she was the devoted wife to Ronald, the loving mother of Sharon (John) Grey of Wheaton and Daniel (Carol) Balow of Wheaton, the grandmother of Stephen (Susan) Grey, Jonathan (fiancée Valerie Bone) Grey, Benjamin Grey, Elizabeth (fiancée Kevin Deboe) Balow, David Balow, Timothy (fiancée Ashley Updegraff) Balow, and Mary Balow, and sister of Ervin (Nona) Seem of Menominee Falls, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
