Lisa S. Keup, age 50, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 27, 1967 to Alfred and Lorna Nelsen.

Lisa grew up and attended high school in Belle Plaine, Minnesota.  She graduated Cum Laude from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Lisa taught Special Education in Cleveland, Ohio prior to having children and has been an interior designer for the past 12 years.  She married Jerry Keup on September 25, 1992.

Lisa has been active serving the refugee community in Wheaton where she was recognized in 2014 with the Wheaton Citizens Award and she also served on the board for Love Your Neighbor.

She attended church at Willow Wheaton.

Lisa was an inspiration to many.  Her endless enthusiasm, selfless attitude, positive spirit and laughter will always be remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Keup of Wheaton, two children, Sam and Isabel, her parents, Alfred and Lorna Nelsen of Redwood Falls, MN, one sister, Lorie (Mark) Siemon of Belle Plaine, MN, her maternal grandmother, Leah Dolezal, her mother and father in law, Lorrie and Fred Keup of Belle Plaine, MN and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Nelsen.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1st from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00 AM at the church, followed by a private interment for family and close friends at Wheaton Cemetery.

Following the interment, Jerry, Sam and Issy would like to welcome all of you for a celebration of Lisa's life at 4:00 pm in the Red Oak Room at Cantigny Golf 27W270 Mack Road, Wheaton, IL. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

In lieu of flowers, Lisa requested that all donations be made to Love Your Neighbor , a local non-profit whose mission of faith expresses itself through Lisa's heart and her love for interior design and thoughtful acts of kindness towards others , 129 North West Street, Wheaton, IL, 60187.
