Linnea Stofchick, age 99, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died March 26, 2017, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. Linnea Gallay was born on Nov. 24, 1917 and was the only child of Helga and Wallace Gallay.  She grew up in Joliet, Il and attended Secretarial school after graduating high school.  She married Charles Stofchick on Aug. 15, 1942 and they resided in Joliet until their retirement.

Linnea worked in Chicago as a secretary, both at the Chicago Board of Trade and at People's Bank.  They had no children.  When they retired they moved to South Portland, Maine, where they were both active in community affairs.  After Charles died, Linnea moved to Wheaton. Linnea loved to travel, especially to Sweden where her parents were from and to England.

She is survived by her second cousin, Arthur Carlson and five second cousins once removed.
