Linda J. Segler, 78, a resident of Wheaton for 45 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She was born March 8, 1944, in Ft. Worth, Texas.

She attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and transferred to the University of IL to earn her Masters Degree in Children and Family Development. On June 6, 1964, she married Samuel Segler. His work as a physicist allowed them to live in Switzerland for four years until moving to the Wheaton area.

She worked for Sunny Ridge Family Center as a Social Worker. She also was a foster parent to more than 100 infants through the Sunny Ridge Family Center over a 22-year period. After Samuel's death, she established a memorial fund at Sunny Ridge Family Center for adoptee's educational expenses.

Linda was an avid fan of Elvis. She was proud of her grandchildren and was extremely supportive of their education and activities.

She is survived by her two daughters, Breanna (husband Peter) Foley of Arlington Heights, and Cassandra Koerner of Aurora, IL; six grandchildren, Peter Samuel Foley, Sarah Faith Foley, Kailie Hope Foley, Olivia Breann Burton, Braedon Koerner and Keeley Koerner; her mother, Betty Trimble of South Carolina, Texas; a sister, Glinda Van Dyke (Husband Eddy) of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel L. Segler and her father, Leonard Trimble.
