Linda M. McNeil, née Gleason, a cherished resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Central DuPage Hospital at the age of 71. She was born on September 6, 1952, in Chicago, to her loving parents, Jerry and Helene Gleason.

Linda's journey began in the vibrant neighborhood of Wrigleyville in Chicago, where she was the second of seven children. In 1968, she relocated to Wheaton, Illinois, and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1970. During this time, in 1968, she crossed paths with Mick McNeil while working at the Big Boy in Glen Ellyn. After Mick's military service, their love story blossomed, culminating in their marriage on November 11, 1972. Together, they nurtured three children, first in Lombard and later in Carol Stream.

Throughout her life, Linda embarked on various career paths, from waitressing to working in the office of a car dealership. However, her true calling was found when she became a Realtor at Spengle Real Estate, which later became Berkshire-Hathaway Real Estate. She dedicated herself to helping others find their dream homes.

Linda and Mick shared a deep love for travel and dancing, and they were known for hosting delightful gatherings, with the annual St. Patrick's Day party at their home being a highlight of the year.

Above all, Linda's most treasured role was being a loving mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She selflessly devoted herself to the well-being and happiness of those around her. Linda's heart was boundless, and she would give her shirt off her back without hesitation, not just to her family but also to her friends. Her unwavering commitment to the people she loved and her boundless generosity will forever be remembered.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael "Mick" McNeil, and their three children, Jason (Nikki) McNeil of Romeoville, IL, Megan Carstensen of Montgomery, IL, and Julie (Chris) Lambert of Elgin, IL. Linda's legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, Madison, Samantha, Chloe, Lily, Hannah, Kayleen, Logan, Olivia, and Layla, as well as her great-granddaughter, Stella. She is also survived by her siblings, Sue (Dean) Mennecke, Mike (Von) Gleason, Patrick (Jeanette) Gleason, Diane Gleason, Peggy (Phil) O'Leary, and Peter (Marcy) Gleason, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, located at 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church.
