Linda J. Gilbert, age 76, a resident of Austin, TX, died March 20, 2024 at Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation in Austin, TX.

Linda grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL with her parents, older brother, and twin sister.  After high school she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN).  Throughout decades serving as a nurse, her fondest memories were of the days she provided in-home healthcare services.

Linda had three main interests in life.  The first was her love of music.  From singing in the St. John the Baptist Church choir as well as for special Masses at the Diocese of Joliet to going to rock concerts, she found joy.  Linda's second major focus in life was her love for her dogs, providing each with unconditional love - Moses the cockapoo, Shamus the English springer spaniel, and Sadie the beloved golden retriever.  She moved to Texas in 2015 only to find no pets in her sister's home. So along came Yogi the collie who was her bff for the rest of her years.  Linda's third love was all about family.  She often shared great meals with her son, Christopher, and had countless memories of their church sponsored trip to Assisi.

She shared a lifetime of experiences with her sister, Christina, and showed generosity and the deepest connection in her final years.  Linda had endless love that she showered upon her niece, Alyson, and nephew, Ted.

Linda is survived by her son Christopher McCrowey, her twin sister Christina Carson, and her niece and nephew, Alyson and Ted Mintz.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lilian Gilbert Jr. and her older brother John Gilbert III.

Visitation and prayers for Linda will be held April 3, 2024 from 9:00am - 10:00am at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 0s233 Church St., Winfield, Illinois. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
