Linda Daniels, age 81, passed away November 11, 2024. She was born June 7, 1943 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Ralph & Gladys Crees. Linda spent her childhood, with her parents and sister, on their family farm in western Pennsylvania. The family moved to Oak Park, IL in the 1950's where Linda graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School. They attended Jefferson Park Bible Church in Chicago.
After taking college business courses, Linda moved to Wheaton, IL and worked for several Christian ministries, from the 1960's into the 1980's, including National Association of Evangelicals, Christian Destiny, Inc., and Youth For Christ Chicago. Linda attended Wheaton Evangelical Free Church then where she also served in Awana and sang in the choir.
In the late 1980's Linda founded Conferences, Inc. which she ran for over 30 years. Through Conferences, Inc., Linda provided meeting planning services for many ministry organizations including InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and American Association of Bible Colleges. Linda traveled extensively with Conferences, Inc. making fast friends of many clients, colleagues, and other contractors. During those years Linda attended Glen Ellyn Bible Church.
Linda enjoyed practicing hospitality in her personal life as well. She built several homes where she hosted large gatherings. Highlights of those were annual Daniels Family Christmases in Glen Ellyn, in the 1970's and 1980's, and weekend guests in her home at Apple Canyon Lake in the 2000's, 2010's, and 2020's. Linda enjoyed retirement years remodeling her lake house, gardening, visiting, nearby small towns, boating, golf cart rides, meeting the kindest neighbors and friends, and attending Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego.
She is survived by her two children, Brenda (Charles) Guo of Aurora, IL, and Shadow Hunziker of Glen Ellyn, IL; four grandchildren, Sophia, Raymond and Lisa Guo, and Cory Hunziker; and two great-grandchildren, Seth and Elyza.
A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
