Linda Bull passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Born on September 27, 1951, she enjoyed a distinguished career as a preschool and early childhood educator in Joliet District 86 and Glen Ellyn District 89, retiring in 2012. Throughout her years in the classroom, Linda took great pride in being the very first teacher for so many children. Her students and their families benefited from her warmth, dedication, and genuine love of teaching.
Linda was a graduate of St. Jude Elementary School in New Lenox and Lincoln Way High School. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Education from Northern Illinois University.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Betty (Vogel) Roesel.
She is survived by her loving husband and devoted caregiver, Ken; her sons, Kevin (Allison) Bull and Jonathan (Amanda) Bull; and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Annika, Spencer, Asher, and Simon. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and James Czajkoski; her nieces, Carrie Slowinski and Megan Kirchen; her brothers-in-law, Ben (Kyle) Bull and Len (Susan) Bull; and their children, Chris Bull, Patrick Bull, Ryan Bull, and Jennifer Fairchild, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Her family wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to those who provided care, comfort, and support to Linda over the years. In particular, they are profoundly grateful to Aira Zove for her devoted care and companionship. The family is also grateful for the exceptional care and kindness shown by the AccentCare hospice team.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Linda's legacy lives on in the countless children whose lives she touched as an educator, the family she loved so deeply, and the many people privileged to know her.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
A Mass will be held in her honor at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7 at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 101 West Loop Road, Wheaton, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda's memory to CurePSP www.psp.org.
