Linda
Barstatis
February 28, 1942 – October 6, 2019
Linda Kay Fagaly Barstatis passed peacefully to her heavenly home on October 6, 2019 at her home in Wheaton. She was born February 28, 1942, in Lakeland, Florida to Ralph and Sadie Lou Fagaly.
The family relocated to the Chicagoland area and in high school Linda met Robert Barstatis at Oak Park River Forest High School, from which she graduated in 1960. Linda and Robert married in 1961, and established a long standing presence in Wheaton. Linda had an amazing passion for raising children and a mother's heart that was full of unconditional love and selfless energy. In addition to having her own children, she served as a foster mother to literally hundreds of children. Many children she cared for were terminally ill, but they spent their short lives being loved and tirelessly tended to. Linda's home was a place where all were welcome and loved with the love of Jesus. From the 1970's up until several years preceding her death, she was seldom seen without a baby in her arms. The love and care she provided for so many was truly inspiring and changed a multitude of lives for the better.
In 2014, Linda married Tim Wall and the couple continued to serve as foster parents in Wheaton. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert; her children: Moses, Chante, Germari, Brett, Jarrod, and Shahni. She is survived by her husband Tim Wall; her children: Lindsay Tunk (Kevin), Lisha Denius (John), Noah (Natalie) Barstatis, Charles (Anna) Barstatis, Kenan Barstatis, Elizabeth Barstatis, Precious Barstatis, Nella Wall; her step-children Jessica, Meredith, Robert, Emma, Rex, and Victoria Wall; 16 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Linda's nurturing and gentle spirit left an indelible imprint on the lives of countless individuals and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in Linda's name can be made to Evangelical Child and Family Agency , 1530 N. Main St. Wheaton, IL 60187 www.evancfa.org.
