Obituary

LeRoy F. Matheson, age 85, a resident of Bloomingdale, formerly of Wheaton, and Glen Ellyn, died Thursday, February 15, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born September 10, 1921 in Chicago.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Radar Instructor. He retired after 40 years with Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a plant engineer. He volunteered with the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, and also helped Seniors with tax perparation. He was an avid musician and played many brass instruments with both the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Wheaton Municipal Band. He was an excellent gardener and grew roses. He enjoyed carpentry and electrical work around the home.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy (nee Pohl); three sisters: Arlene, Mary & Audrey and one brother Calvin; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy and a brother Donald and a sister Doris.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Winfield.
