Leonard P. Yangas, age 78, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Lexington Health Care Center in Bloomingdale, Illinois surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 24, 1939 in Chicago to George and Marie (Ryan) Yangas. Raised in Chicago where he attended Fenwick High School until moving to Lombard, where he went to Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, IL.  He initially worked in sales for his uncle Joe at Park Avenue Floor Covering in Lombard.  He enjoyed a lifetime career in the floor covering business and eventually owned & operated his own company, Town & Country Interiors located in St. Charles.  Upon his retirement, he moved to Summerfield, Florida where he lived for ten years before returning to Carol Stream.  He was a member of the Jaycees for many years working on Lombard's first Haunted House. Besides enjoying the Cubs, Len was an avid football fan of which his favorite teams were the Chicago Bears, Alabama Crimson Tide and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  His hobbies included reading, boating, water skiing and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara (nee Jaeger) Yangas of Carol Stream, two daughters, Deborah (Ronald) Riha of Lombard and Karen (Glenn) Gillis of Batavia; grandchildren Samantha (Antonio) Ramirez, Mackenzie Riha & Carter Gillis; great-grandchildren Damian, Nathan, Daisy & Violet.

He was preceded in death by his son, David L. Yangas and brother, Gregory Yangas.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva, IL.
