Leland Richard George, 74, a resident of West Chicago, Illinois, went to be with The Lord on April 30, 2019. He was born May 27, 1944, in Osceola, Iowa, to Carl Richard and Ardetta Maurine George.

Lee grew up on the farm in Osceola, Iowa, with his sisters, Suzanne and Betty. He graduated from Clarke Community High School in 1963 and moved to Chicago where he attended DeVry Institute. He married Margaret E. White in August, 1965. To this union three daughters were born: Sheri Lynn, Vicki Marie, and Becky Ann.

Lee began his concrete business in the early 70s and later switched to asphalt paving and excavating. In the mid-90s, he began constructing commercial buildings, which he managed. He was also involved in numerous other business ventures.

Some of his hobbies included fishing, golfing, gardening and traveling. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls, rodeos, riding on his lawnmower and attending state fairs.

He is survived by his sisters, Suzanne (Robert), Betty; his three daughters, Sheri, Vicki (Agustin), and Becky; his six grandchildren, Jonathan, Adam, Amanda, Ashley, Joshua, and Robert; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and a nephew.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 27W010 Parkway Dr, in Winfield, IL. Interment will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the American Cancer Society or Faith Baptist Church .
