Lee Thomas (Tom) Doty, of Wheaton, IL, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 6, 1941 to Lee and Mina Doty. Tom was a graduate of Warwood High School, West Virginia in 1959 and also of Michigan State University, Michigan, where he majored in Hotel Management.
Tom recently retired from Union Pacific Railroad, after serving for 27 years. His Christian faith was an important part of his life; and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Wheaton and the Gideon's International. He enjoyed reading and collecting stamps. He liked radios, hats and clocks.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, and son, Joshua; his siblings, Parker "James" Doty, Barbara (Richard) Edgar, Karen (Mark) Stopperich; aunts, Mary Jones, nee Bier, Alice (Jerry) Bruhn, nee Bier; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bruce, uncles, and aunts.
A memorial service will be held at the

, 1310 N. Main Street, Wheaton, IL 60187, on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Rowe officiating.
