LaVerne E. Vickery (Wicker), 74, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at home in Wheaton. Born in Chicago on April 28, 1946 to Joseph and Stella Wicker (Mechla), LaVerne transplanted to DuPage County and lived most of her life in Wheaton and Carol Stream. She graduated from St. Francis High School, Wheaton, in 1964.

LaVerne had a knack for growing flowers and plants. She was an avid walker at local parks and forest preserves. She enjoyed playing with her two daughters and her two granddaughters when they were young enough to want to. She had great taste in clothing and liked hunting bargains. She was a skilled cook, but particularly relished trying new foods while eating out.

She is survived by her former husband, John Vickery of Wheaton; her daughters, Carolyn Vickery of West Chicago and Kimm Hunt (Tom) of Alpharetta, GA; her two granddaughters, Reeve and Raelee Hunt; and her dear friend Rich Berens of Joliet. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gale Wicker.

Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10am at St. Michael's Cemetery, 1109 Warrenville Rd, Wheaton.
