Lauren Rae Doherty, 12 of Elgin, IL was called home to the Lord on August 4, 2010.

Lauren was full of joy and always lit up a room. Two of her greatest delights were reading and writing. She loved helping her mom in caring for her younger siblings. She was a very special girl and will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.

The daughter of Raymond and Karen (Elias) Doherty was born on August 23, 1997 in Johnson City, TN.

Besides her parents she is survived by six brothers, Nicholas, Daniel, Nathan, Lucus, Matthew and Marcus and one sister, Makenna. Paternal Grandmother, Edith Eutsler of Rockland, Maine. Maternal Grandparents, Louis and Jacqueline (Simone) Marcello of Longs, SC and James Elias of Florida. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 9 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1401 S. Naperville Rd. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
