Kimdinh T. Nguyen, age 96, a resident of Carol Stream, Illinois, died August 2, 2022, at home. She was born to Nguyen Thi Tiet and Nguyen Duong on June 6, 1926 in the town of Hoài Nhõn in Bình Định province of Việt Nam.

She had 8 siblings. She married Can Tran at age 16 and had 12 children. In 1965, the couple moved to Pleiku. In her youth, she worked in rice fields and as a cook. After years of labor, she transitioned to housework to care for her sons and daughters. She moved to the United States in 1994 with her husband (Can) three youngest children (Hieu, Thoa and Khue) and granddaughter (Trang). She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing Cải lýõng, going on walks, drinking coffee and traveling back to Vietnam where she has over 100 descendents.

She is survived by her children: Thoa "Tammy" Tran, Khue Tran, Hieu Tran, Lai Tran, Hap Tran, Toan Tran, Hoa Tran, Hue Tran and Huong Tran.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home (304 N. Main St. Wheaton, IL 60187) with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Relatives & friends are invited to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a procession to Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
