Kimberly Irene Akins (nee Mays), age 48, a resident of Winfield, IL, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born April 3, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan. Edward M. and Lauris H. Mays, Kim's parents, welcomed her joyfully into their home two weeks later. The family expanded with sister, Pam. They lived in Michigan; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Muncie, Indiana before calling Glen Ellyn, Illinois their home in 1980. In Illinois, Kim attended Wheaton Christian Grammar School and received her high school diploma from Glenbard South. She married in 1990 and had son, Jacob Stewart, two daughters, Stephanie Irene and Kristin Joy. Kim was also very proud of her two grandchildren; Danny and London. Kim will be forever in our memories and our hearts.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church , 27W500 North Avenue, West Chicago, IL 60185. Interment is private.
