Kim A. Peterson, age 69, a resident of Wayne, IL, died peacefully at his home on June 9, 2023.

Kim was a beloved child of God and a baptized and confirmed lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. He served the Church faithfully over the years as a governing board officer, elder, choir member and handbell choir member.

Kim was a mechanical engineer and spent his entire career in midstream gas processing with the same employer under different company names. He was respected by his colleagues for his honesty, integrity, work ethic and selfless dedication.

As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Kim especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his favorite times were spent having backyard cookouts, making homemade ice cream, playing ball with his grandchildren, and watching football with the family. He also enjoyed gardening, home repair and improvement projects, and working on his prized vintage Mustang.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Peterson of Wayne, IL; daughter, Audrey Torres (husband Josh) of Indianapolis, IN; son, Aaron Peterson (wife Brandi) of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren Cameron, Hannah, Alden and Luke; sisters Lynne Magers and Susan Rotramel; and nieces, a nephew, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 410 N. Cross St, Wheaton, IL 60187, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
