Kevin J. Burke, age 50, a resident of Lombard, IL, and formerly of Elgin, IL, and Glen Ellyn, IL, died Thursday, November 28, 2013, at home. He was born January 22, 1963, in Dublin, Ireland.

Kevin served in the Marine Corps, the National Guard, and then finally in the Army Reserves. He worked for more than 20 years as an Adapted Physical Education teacher and Special Olympics coach at Kirk School in Palatine, IL.

He is survived by his two cherished children, Kathryn Marie Burke, and Bryan William Burke, both of Elgin; his beloved parents, William and Noreen Burke of Wheaton, IL; his brother, Stephen (Mika) Burke of Tokyo, Japan; his uncle, Peter Galvin of Wheaton; and his former wife and friend, Susan Marie Burke of Elgin.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the start of a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
