Obituary

Kenneth Stewart Oswald, age 87, of Aurora, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17th.

He was born on July 19 th , 1932 in Newark, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jenne Oswald and his parents, Ronald Oswald and Johann Stewart Duncan Oswald. Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an Aviation Electronics Technician. Ken enjoyed a 42-year career with A.T.&T. as an engineer in their Long Lines Division.

Ken attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Warrenville, IL. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Gideons and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, in nursing home and prison ministries, with Awana and the McAuley Water Street Mission in New York City and on the Board of Governors of Northeastern Bible College. He contributed time and treasure to many other charitable organizations and missionaries.

Ken is survived by his two daughters: Linda (Bruce) Walz of West Chicago, IL and Karen (Scott) Davis of Naperville, IL. He is also survived by his brother, David (Ruth) Oswald of Naperville, IL.

Ken adored his six grandchildren: Jason Michael, Tanya Nicole, Alex "Sasha" Dean, Kenneth Nathaniel, Dariya Grace and Sterling James. He enjoyed ancestry research, Bell System memorabilia, the Highland Games, air museums and air shows.

A private visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton, IL 60187, with Pastor Dale Williams officiating.

A private committal service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood, IL.
