Kenneth P. Moore, age 89, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, July 19 at the Edward Hospital in Naperville.
He was born on April 20, 1917 in Kirksville, MO. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He served in the Infantry with the 37th Division under General MacArther in the liberation of the Philippine Islands. He retired in 1978 from the Wheaton School District building maintenance. He was a loyal member of Christ Church of Glen Ellyn.
Mr. Moore is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Clinkenbeard of Winfield, two grandsons, Keith (Ruth Ann) Clinkenbeard and Karl (Laura Lee) Clinkenbeard, and one great-grandson, Joshua Keith Edward Clinkenbeard and two sisters, Leanna (Walter) Pietzsch and Jean (Bob) Dabney and sister in law, Rachel Moore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Faith Moore, his parents and several siblings.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, where services will be held on Monday at 1:00 P.M. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
