Kenneth J. Meszaros, age 68, a longtime resident of Glendale Heights, IL, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 27, 2024. Born on March 19, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to Emery and Margaret Meszaros, Ken was proud of his Hungarian heritage.
Ken spent his childhood in Grand Rapids, MI, where he graduated from Creston High School. He met the love of his life, Anita Ergang, and they were married on May 24, 1980, in Wyoming, MI. Ken's career with Fireman's Fund Insurance led them to the Chicago area, where he furthered his education, graduating from the College of DuPage and DePaul University.
In the late 1980s, Ken embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, founding his own accounting firm. His expertise in finance led him to establish KJM Wealth Management, and later, he partnered to form M & M Accounting in Wheaton.
Ken's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He initially worshipped at St. Matthew's Church in Glendale Heights, where his children attended school. Later, he found a spiritual home at Community Fellowship Church of West Chicago, where he was a beloved member and leader. Ken led a men's Bible study group and participated in mission trips, embodying his faith through service and outreach.
Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Ken was passionate about sports. He enjoyed coaching and refereeing soccer, and he was a dedicated referee for high school, college, and community leagues in both soccer and basketball. Ken was an avid fan of hockey, football, soccer, and golf, loyally following the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs And Liverpool F.C.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Anita; his three children, Kenny (Christina Czuma) Meszaros, Julie Meszaros, and Patrick (Naomi) Meszaros; and his three cherished grandchildren, Emery and Corbin Meszaros, and Zoey Czuma. He also leaves behind his three younger brothers, Jim (Joyce), Tom (Leslie), and Gary (Karen) Meszaros, and his nieces.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Emery and Margaret.
A visitation will be held on June 6, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:10 a.m. at Community Fellowship Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Community Fellowship Church.
