Obituary

Kenneth E. Lindsey, age 80, a resident of Carol Stream for almost 40 years, died at home on Monday, April 25, 2005. He was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on July 31, 1924 to Kenneth O. and Amy Isabelle Lindsey.

He was raised in Humboldt, Kansas where he graduated from Humboldt High School in 1943. Ken was a veteran of the US Navy where he served on the USS Libra in the South Pacific. He attended Kansas University in Lawrence, KS. In 1948 he married Bernice Baker in Humboldt. For 33 years he worked as an electronics technician for Amoco.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Glen Ellyn and volunteered as a Special Olympic coach. In Humboldt, he was a past-master of the Masonic Lodge. He was instrumental in founding a special needs class in Chanute, KS.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, two children, Kenneth D. of Carol Stream and Guyla (Tony) Kryka of Salem Twp., MI, and four grandsons, Anton Jr., Richard, Kyle and Jason Kryka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two grandsons, John and James Kryka.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Further services and interment will be held in Humboldt.
