Kenneth R. Hill, age 74, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, died following a head injury due to a fall at home on Saturday, October 23, at the Central Du Page Hospital in Winfield. He was born on August 11, 1936 in Chicago to Milton and Evelyn Hill.
Ken grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from York High School and Walton School of Commerce. He enjoyed many hobbies including, boating, orchids, and coin and stamp collecting. He owned and operated Rich-Lee and Skoolvan Bus companies, providing handicapped bus transportation for children. He retired at age 65 from Cook Illinois Corporation.
He is survived by his wife Mary, seven children, Cheryl (David) Burdine, Keith Hill, Kevin (Amy) Hill, Kraig (Beth) Hill, Sue DeAngelo, David (Kristin) Steinhaus, and Charles (Kari) Steinhaus, 13 grandchildren, Michele, David C., Madeleine, Dylan, Nicholas, Joseph, Samuel, Macy, Audrey, Paul, Mariah, Joshua, and James, and one great-grandson, Miles. He is also survived by one sister, Marilyn (Larry) Boehning of Indianapolis, IN, his step-brother, Michael Onken and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, L. Pauline Hill.
A memorial service will be held at Windsor Park Manor, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, Illinois, 60188, on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. Interment is private.
