Kenneth G. Dawson, age 93, a resident of West Chicago, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025.  He was born July 13th, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Clara Dawson.

He was the youngest of 8 siblings: Earl, Wilbur, Bernice, Alice, Harriett (who was often referred to as Babe) and Helen.  One brother died in infancy from the Spanish flu.  Although a large family, they were a close bunch and truly loved each other.  He was very close to his mother even as an adult.  His father died when Ken was a young man, in his early 20's.  Ken loved to play baseball and was a Chicago Cubs fan for most of his life even though he lived on the south side of Chicago not far from the White Sox park.

In January 1992, he married Ruth (nee Leep) Walstra, and they honeymooned in Antigua.  They lived in Wheaton and West Chicago.  They were active members of Faith Community Church in West Chicago.

He is survived by his nieces Joyce (Bob) Scully and Carmen Lange; and grandnephew Dylan Scully; step-children Brenda (Gregory) Passon and Gregory (Ruth) Walstra; his grandchildren Faith (Dustin) Scott, Katie (Jim) Alrutz and Danica Walstra; his great-grandson Gavin Scott.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Walstra Dawson, his parents, and all his siblings.

A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Illinois 60187, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at Wheaton Cemetery.
