Obituary

Kenneth C. "Kenny" Craig, age 100, a resident of Wheaton, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born December 8, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles & Adelaide Craig.

Kenny grew up in Chicago and, except for 3 years in Sheboygan, lived most of his life in the Chicago area. He received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Northwestern University, and was an ardent supporter of the Wildcats. When WWII broke out he joined the Navy and served in the Officers reserve. Kenny loved to play the trombone, and played in a number of big bands in the 40's. Growing up his kids loved to listen to him play. He met his wife of 71 years, Ellie (Rose) on a blind date . Ken and Rose loved to travel to Vermont (where Rose grew up) and Arizona. They had a second home for several years in Fountain Hills, AZ. Ken was a lifelong Cubs fan and loved nothing better than watching a game and advising the current owner and manager on their strategic and tactical decisions. He was generous and always there for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Eleanor; his children Casey (Marsha), Jeffrey (Elizabeth), Scott & Pamela (Pete Hay) Craig; his grandchildren Kate (Reid Morgan) Kilby, Rachel (Matthew) Strutzel, Lynn Craig, Paul (Carrie) Craig, Jamie (Kimberly) Craig; his 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Warren (the late Virginia) Craig and his sister Virginia (the late Michael) Coyne.

Services will be held privately.
