Kenneth P. Bylsma, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.  He was born April 8, 1946 in Paterson, New Jersey to David & Jackie Bylsma.

Ken's childhood of rambling and exploring West Palm Beach, Florida, set the stage for a lifetime of service. After graduating from high school, Ken attended Emmaus Bible College, graduating in 1967. He spent several summers volunteering at Bair Lake Bible Camp where he met his future wife. Ken and Dorothy were married in May 1968. Ken served in the Army from 1969-1971, in the construction unit in Vietnam.

Concrete work became both Ken's livelihood and a vehicle for building relationships around the world. After he retired, Ken devoted his time to missions in Angola, India, Honduras, Costa Rica, and several Christian camps. He spent his life helping his family and friends where needed and invested his best for God's kingdom.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; his children Kenneth II (Kristin), Todd (Tracy), Nathan (Svea), & Raenell (Philip) Ibarra; his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Andrew, Ashley, Adalyn, Alyssa, Ashley, Jacob, Abigail, David, Alex, T.J., & Micah; his mother Jackie Bylsma (who is nearly 102 years old), his sisters Shirley (Walter) Risko & Brenda (Dale) Edwards. Also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law Margaret Walker.

A visitation will be held at Lombard Gospel Chapel, 369 N Stewart Ave., Lombard, IL 60148, on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. The service will be livestreamed through this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czxTJIVZDBw .  Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Northlake, IL.
