It is with heavy hearts we announce that Dr. Kathryn Elizabeth "Beth" McFarland-Wilson went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2025.  A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, Beth fought a valiant battle against breast cancer for over twenty-five years.

Born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, raised in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Beth graduated from Hinsdale High School and went on to earn her first degree from North Central College.  Beth McFarland-Wilson earned an astounding five degrees in her lifetime: two bachelor's, two master's and one PhD.  She dedicated her life to teaching her students to read and write, knowing this was essential to their success and a life spent reading was a good one.

Beth McFarland-Wilson is survived by her husband, Randolph Wilson, and her children, Thomas Barnard (Jessica), Daniel Barnard (Jennifer), Brynne Clippard (Tom), and Steven Barnard (Natalie); and her beloved grandchildren, Vivienne, Katie, Thomas, David, Brian, Steven, Lennox, Penelope, Lydia, and Owen.

A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187 on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations to Samaritan's Purse or the Lurie Cancer Center would be greatly appreciated.
