Kathleen "Gee Gee" Yoshino, age 78, a resident of Carol Stream died on April 16, 2022 at Central DuPage Hospital.  She was born October 9, 1943 in Chicago.

She married her one true love, Tim, and together they raised two children, Brian and Lisa. She drew her strength and inspiration from her husband whom she loved beyond measure. Kathy often said that her proudest accomplishment was watching Brian and Lisa graduate college, earn their masters degrees and go on to their own professional prosperity. This, she said, was proof that her life was a success.

Kathy had a passion for community service.  She served for many years as the president of the Western Trails Elementary PTO.  She organized countless fun fairs and bake sales.  She helped plan many of Carol Stream's 4th of July celebrations. She was a perpetual den mother for Brian's Cub Scout pack.

She spent her retirement as an amazing grandmother to Grace and Luke. Her happiest moments came from being a full time playmate to her grandchildren. She cherished every moment she spent playing monopoly, cooking for them and talking endlessly about their interests. Her attentive and abounding love for her grandchildren was her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Itsuo "Tim" Yoshino. She is survived by her children Brian and Lisa and her two grandchildren Grace and Luke.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N Main St., in Wheaton. A memorial luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 30 2022 from 11am-2pm at Cantigny Golf Club, 27W270 Mack Road in Wheaton.
