Katherine Lauber, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, formerly of Sea Cliff, NY, died Friday, December 10, at the Johnson Medical Center. She was born on August 11, 1913 to missionaries Richard and Alice Hill in Russia.

Throughout her life she was a friend and mentor to many. She was actively involved in her church in Glen Head, NY, where she played the piano, worked with Pioneer Girls, and was known for her hospitality. She was a graduate of Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.

Katherine is survived by four children, Dick (Marilyn) of Wheaton, Kathy (Bob) Blume of Anderson, IN, Peter (Cheryl) of East Lansing, MI, and Jonathan (Marty) of Elyria, OH, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Marguerite (Henry) Holman of Annapolis, MD.

Preceding her in death were her husband Hermann in 1980, her parents, and two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, from 2 until 9 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Chapel, President St. and College Ave. in Wheaton.

Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
