Obituary

Karen Jean "Kay" Raucci, age 69, a 10 year resident of West Chicago, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 30. She was born January 9, 1944 in Chicago to Nick and Martha Papa.

She graduated from Providence High School in Chicago in 1962. While attending college she worked for Atlantic India Rubber Company in Chicago. On November 30, 1963 she married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Raucci. They raised their family in Wood Dale where their children attended Holy Ghost Grammar School. For over 20 years she worked with her husband at R & R Industries and Village Mold Company. Until recently she worked at Carson's in Yorktowne Mall for 10 years.

Her Christian faith was an important part of her life. She was a prayer warrior who continually prayed for family, friends and those in need. She was creative and wrote beautiful poetry based on Bible stories. She was a talented craftsman and enjoyed refinishing furniture and decorating.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Raucci Jr., three children, Kelly Raucci of Winfield, Kristen (Tom) Fleming of Commerce, MI, and Chuck (Jena) Raucci of Santa Monica, CA, two grandchildren, Michael "Mikey" Schwarz and Jackson Fleming, one brother, Bill (Teri) Papa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Rosemarie Schilf.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A Mass will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Road, in Wood Dale, IL. Interment will be private.
