Karen Louise Harris, age 61, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream and formerly of Wheaton, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 after an extended time with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on August 17, 1949.

Karen worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of College Church in Wheaton where she worked in the library. She enjoyed quilting and jigsaw puzzles. Her family was important to her and she was like a mother to her stepchildren and her sisters children.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin Harris, her sisters, Dorothy (John) Hyzny and Audrey (John) Benedikt, and three nieces and two nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 12 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m. at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Dr., Carol Stream, IL 60188.
