Karen Ann Glenn, 80, a resident of West Chicago, formerly of Wheaton, died September 6, 2024. She was born August 1, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Ann Glenn.
Karen had worked as an activities director at Franciscan Court Supportive Living in West Chicago, whose owners and staff had become like family to her.
Karen also was a dedicated servant who happily volunteered for various ministries at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton. She especially loved working with young people and taught in the Religious Education program and accompanied teens on summer mission trips. Karen was also very thankful for the kindness and spiritual support of many parishioners in the St. Michael community.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents John and Ann Glenn. She is survived by her sisters Mary (Bernie) Modaff of Wheaton, Barb (Karl) Kelb of Carmel, Indiana, and brother John (Sara) Glenn of West Chicago, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Karen's family would like to thank the nurses and staffs at Franciscan Court and Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate care. They also thank the community of St. Michael's for their prayers and support.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Karen's honor may be directed to Franciscan Court, 1996 Franciscan Way, West Chicago, IL 60185 or to Suncrest Hospice, 5 Reere Dr., Ste 130, Northbrook, IL 60062.
