June Lois Vogler, aged 86 of Wheaton, IL, went to be with her Savior, in the evening on Monday, December 14, 2015. She was surrounded by her daughter, Susan McClain, son-in-law, Scott, and granddaughter Catherine. June was born to John and Nell Vander Jagt on July 7, 1929, the sixth child of seven children.
She grew up in Grand Rapids, the fifth daughter of six daughters (the eldest was a son). Her childhood was full of music, as she developed a passion for the organ and accordion. The sisters spent a lot of time together throughout their lives, filling whatever room they inhabited with joy, laughter, and music.
June met her husband, Harold Vogler (the handsome captain of the famed football team) at Michigan State. She graduated with an education degree and taught for six years before having a son, Mark Vogler (of Waters, Michigan). Five years later the couple had a daughter, Susan (of West Chicago, IL). The couple raised their family in Birmingham, Michigan while Harold owned and operated W.F. Miller Company.
Throughout her life, June truly enjoyed her tasteful sense of style. She delighted in giving gifts to her children and grandchildren, and her granddaughters have wonderful memories of sporting a "Grandma June approved" dress or sweater. June's sense of humor gave her family and friends many laughs and joys.
June was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nell Vander Jagt, her husband, Harold Vogler, her brother, Leonard Vander Jagt, her sisters, Nell Brander, Ann Stryker, Marian Van Eck, Ruth Anderson, and Patricia Kanode.
June is survived by her children, Mark Vogler, and Susan (Scott) McClain, her grandchildren, Kirk (Katy) Vogler, Jack Vogler, Catherine McClain, and Sarah McClain.
