June S. Schroeder, age 82, a resident of Monee, and formerly a longtime resident of Palos Heights, died peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Franciscan St. James Health Center in Chicago Heights, IL. She was born February 17, 1930 in Chicago to Frank and Esther Biggers.
June grew up in Chicago and Oak Lawn. On August 27, 1949 she married Allen Schroeder. They lived in Worth for 15 years until moving to Palos Heights, where they lived for over 35 years. For many years, she and her husband worked at the Amoco station at 127th and Harlem. She enjoyed Ladies Bible Study at her church, crocheting, the Chicago Bears and thought lighthouses were beautiful.
She is survived by her husband, Al, three children, Judy (John) Eddlemon of Gary, Indiana, Jim (Angie) Schroeder of Country Club Hills, and Jon (Laura) Schroeder of Oak Lawn, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Marilyn Buller and Ruth Schroeder.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Clinton Biggers and his wife, Helen.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Christian Church, 26900 S. Will Center Road, Monee, IL 60449, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
