June H. Osberg, age 97, a resident ot Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, Rockford, Ill. since 1986, went to be with Jesus on December 24, 2013.
June was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 12, 1916 to Bertha and Gust Anderson. Swedish was the language spoken in her home. After high school, June attended Augustana School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. After furthering her education, she was appointed Director of Nursing at Augustana Lutheran hospital in
Chicago.
June had two brothers and three sisters who preceded her in death. The Anderson family was strong in their faith and thoroughly enjoyed doing things together and being in each other's company. The Anderson women, including June, were known for their baking and cooking skills. Many were the recipients of their talents.
June was an active member of First Evangelical Free Church(Summerdale) in Chicago. She was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and served on various committees. She married Harold Osberg on January 29, 1966.
In 1970, June retired from nursing but continued to use her skills in aiding family members and friends. She and Harold continued to serve the Lord together at Summerdale until they moved to Fairhavenin 1986. They joined First Free Church in Rockford. June and Harold were a devoted couple - loved by all.
June is survived by nieces, nephews, great, great great, and great great great nieces and
nephews. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 3rd at Fairhaven Christian Center.
June will be missed by many, but we rejoice in knowing that she has been promoted to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with Harold, her family, and her many friends.
