Julia Mae Beelen's Obituary
Julia Mae Beelen, age 89, formerly a longtime resident of Holland, Michigan, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Lexington Healthcare Center in Bloomingdale, IL. She was born in Zeeland, MI on July 14, 1920.
She was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church, most recently of Pine Creek CRC in Holland, MI. In 1951 she married Carl Beelen. They raised a family in Holland and she was a homemaker. In the 1970's and 1980's she worked as Nursing Assistant at Haven Park Nursing Center in Zeeland, MI. She enjoyed handicrafts especially knitting.
Julia is survived by one daughter, Sandy Beelen of Carol Stream, IL, five brothers, Norman, Delbert, Irvin, John, and Jerry Bos and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1990, one son, Randall in 1996, seven siblings, Clarena, Jean, Elmer, Lucille, Harold, Lillian and James.
A memorial service will be held locally on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Naperville Presbyterian Church, 943 Sanctuary Lane, in Naperville, IL. A memorial visitation will be held later that evening on Thursday, November 19, from 6-8 P.M. at Dykstra Funeral Home, 295 Douglas Ave, in Holland, MI. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11:00 A.M. at Central Avenue Church, 259 Central Ave., in Holland, MI.
Interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Holland.
