Judith L. Venckus, age 80, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of December 31, 2024. She was born on June 20, 1944, in Kingsville, Texas, to Howard and Ethel (Blegen) Koch.

Judy's family moved to Addison, IL, where she went on to become one of the first students to attend and graduate from Willowbrook High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles Venckus. Their first meeting, in grade school, more than 75 years ago, marked the beginning of their blessed and loving journey together.

In 1965, Judy and Charles married at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bloomingdale, IL. Soon after, they moved to Glen Ellyn, IL, where Judy's dream of raising a family became a reality. She cherished every moment of motherhood, and her greatest joy was always her children and grandchildren.

Before retiring, Judy worked as a Kitchen Manager at Glen Crest Junior High, a position that allowed her to stay connected with her children and spend time with them during the school day. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her warm heart, caring nature, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren, who were blessed to call her Grandma, Gram, and GaGa.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Terri (Todd) Monken, Michele (Chris) Zilligen, and Charles (Jessica) Venckus; grandchildren: Travis Monken, Christopher Zilligen, Zachary Zilligen, Michael Zilligen, Nicholas Zilligen, Micheli Venckus, James Venckus, Colin Venckus, Ethan Venckus, Sarah Venckus, and Aiden Venckus; brothers: Brian (Louise) Koch and Danny (Karen) Koch; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ethel Koch; her brother, Roddy Koch; and her grandson, Cashmir Venckus.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home (565 Randy Road, Carol Stream, IL 60188).
