IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith
Mroz
October 25, 1943 – July 25, 2023
Judith "Judi" Mroz, age 79, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away on July 25, 2023. She was born on October 25, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles "Bud" and Mary (Strobl) Steiner. Judi was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Mroz for over 50 years; a cherished mother to Karen (Tom) Mroz-Bremner and John (Laura) Mroz; and the proud grandmother to Rose Bremner and Alex Mroz.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, she worked for a summer at NASA as an original "computer" and after becoming a teacher she began her global travels. As a high school teacher for the DoD she taught Labrador and Germany, where she met a young Army Captain, Bob, who became the love of her life. They married 13 months later, and soon Judi would spend many years raising their children. Once they graduated from college, she and Bob renewed their lust for travel, finishing the goal of visiting all 50 states as well as visiting nearly all of the countries of Europe, six of the seven continents, and many of the more well known islands.
Judi considered herself a "professional volunteer." One of her favorite places was Marklund Children's Home where she volunteered for decades. As her children grew she was a substitute teacher and became a professional tax preparer before going back to school to study to be a paralegal and working at a law firm in Wheaton. After she "retired" she continued to volunteer helping seniors with their taxes and other financial matters.
Of the many things Judi did, her favorite titles were those of wife, Mom and "Bebe".
Judi was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mike. In addition to her immediate family, Judi is survived by her sister Paula, her sisters and brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as well as many friends and neighbors whom she loved as family.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Accent Care Naperville (especially Melissa) and Wynscape for their kindness and care for Judi and our family in Judi's final days.
