With deep sorrow and reverence, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jozafin Sada Hopkins, who went to be with the Lord on December 26th, 2024 at the age of 57. Jozafin was born on March 17th, 1967, in Basra, Iraq to her late parents, Janet and Sada Toya.

Jozafin's life reflected her unwavering faith, boundless love, and generous spirit. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, proud mother, loving stepmother, and beloved grandmother. She was also a cherished Mother-in-law &  Sister-in-law and, to her five siblings, a dedicated sister.

Early in her career, she worked in Logistics at Philips in Roselle, IL, where she met the love of her life, Theo. The two were wed in an intimate ceremony in 1995. Her heart, however, was most full when she devoted herself to caring for special education children. As a driver for these children, Jozafin took great joy in seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing nature. Jozafin also enjoyed caring for the beautiful home she and Theo created. She found great joy in gardening, walking, cooking, and watching lifetime movie marathons. Her passion for life extended to her love for extreme couponing and her enthusiasm for shopping, always sharing her finds with family and friends.

Whether through acts of kindness or the quiet, consistent way she cared for her family, Jozafin believed strongly in service to others. She always put her family first and lived her life in Christ's image. She reflected Christ's love in all she did. Her kindness and faithfulness were felt by all who knew her, and Jozafin's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.

Jozafin is survived by her loving husband, Theophilus, her children, Jobe and Rebekah, her stepdaughters, LaQuita, Jasmine, and Taura, her grandchildren, Mike, Jadyn, Jayda, DJ, and Symphani, her daughter-in-law, Kim, son-in law Donte, and her siblings, Mary, Marlin, Madelene, Dinkha, and Mike. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Janet, and father, Sada.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at Community Fellowship Church, 28W240 West North Avenue, West Chicago, IL at 3:00p.m. The service will be livestreamed through this link: Memorial Service for Jozafin Hopkins. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gastric Cancer Foundation , an organization dedicated to supporting the fight against stomach cancer.

Jozafin's family takes comfort knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, and her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will forever be remembered for the warmth she shared, the laughter she brought, and the love she gave so freely.

She is resting in eternal peace.
