Joyce "Romelle"
Graham
April 9, 1940 – April 22, 2021
Joyce "Romelle" (Williams) Graham, also affectionately known as "Grammy," finally saw the face of Jesus on April 22, 2021, after bravely facing multiple health challenges, including Parkinson's Disease, for many years. She trusted Jesus to give her the strength to endure and face each day. Romelle was born in Wheeler, Montana on April 9, 1940 to Maynard and Naomi Williams. She was the devoted wife of Victor Graham, whom she married in 1957. They moved to Wheaton, Illinois, established roots in the community, and raised their four children: Rebecca, Russell (Berni), Daniel (Robin), and Kent (Courtney). Romelle was the loving Grammy of 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
Romelle was an example of trusting Jesus through all times. She always had a smile on her face and never complained about her physical pain. Even up to the very end of her life, she focused more on sharing Jesus than the pain she faced. Her mission was to make sure that she would see all her loved ones in Heaven. Vic and Romelle were involved with Youth for Christ for many years. They loved to be with their Sunday school class and attended Wheaton Bible Church for over 60 years.
Earlier in her life, she expressed her creativity by catering weddings and painting ceramics. Like her husband, she was the unashamed biggest fan of her family members. If they were involved in a game or activity, they knew that Grammy was there to cheer them on. Some of her grandchildren's fondest memories include going to ceramics group with Grammy and snuggling on the wedge pillows during cousin sleepovers at Grammy and Grandfather's house. Romelle was also well-known for her homemade birthday cards that she crafted especially for the recipient.
Romelle is preceded in death by her husband, Victor, her son, Russell, as well as all of her siblings and parents.
To be her family has been the greatest blessing. She has modeled a legacy of bravery, trust, and love, and we will miss her so.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to GO Ministries , Outreach Community Ministries , or Dickson Valley Camp .
