Joyce J. Brown, a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn and Wyndemere Senior Living in Wheaton, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021.  She was born in Detroit on May 9, 1933 to Selden and Mildred Gale. She grew up in Maywood Illinois and graduated from Proviso East High School.

She married her husband, Jim, on January 5, 1952.  After raising two children, she earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Elmhurst College and National College of Education.

Joyce influenced many lives and taught second grade at Churchill School in Glen Ellyn Illinois for more than twenty years.  She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, where she taught many years of Sunday School and served as an Elder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and is survived by her children Jim (Kathy) Brown of Winfield, IL., Jerry Brown of Medina, OH; grandchildren Emily (Ben) Fuller, and Erin (Leslie) Delgado, and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring, Covid restrictions permitting.  Please direct any memorial gifts to a cause or charity of your own choosing.
