Josephine F. Williamson, age 101, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died August 30, 2014, at Johnson Health Care Center in Carol Stream, Illinois. She was born August 25, 1913 in Melrose Park to Adolph and Rose Roger.

"Joyce" graduated from Waller High School in Chicago. She attended secretarial school and worked for the Chicago Circuit Court system and then for Container Corporation until she retired in 1978.

She married Hugh Williamson Jr. on June 1, 1946. They raised their two children in Chicago and Glen Ellyn. She loved to bake and enjoyed extensive traveling. She also enjoyed creating ceramics and knitting, and was fond of butterfly and elephant collectables.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn.

She is survived by her children, Helga (Jim) Therkildsen of Leesburg, FL and Carl (Kathy) Williamson of Sun Prairie, WI, four grandchildren, David (Cheyenne) Therkildsen, Kristina (Christos) Demolas, Erin McConley, and Christopher Williamson, six great-grandchildren, Madison McConley, Demitri Demolas, Oliver Therkildsen, Peyton McConley, Peyton Therkildsen and Melina Demolas, and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Williamson Jr. and her sister, Marion Roger.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, IL, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
