Obituary

Joseph Deak, age 91, a lifelong resident of Homewood and recently of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, died Saturday, November 10 at Windsor Park. He was born on March 19, 1916 in Homewood to John and Katherine Deak.

Mr. Deak was a graduate of Thornton High School and was a veteran of the US Army, serving under General Patton during W.W.II. He worked as a watch repairman at Litt's and Cousin's Jewelers. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Homewood and the Illinois Railway Museum. He loved gardening, listening to Guy Lombardo music and steam locomotives.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Rachel Deak and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Windsor Park Manor, 120 Windsor Park Dr. at North Ave., (just west of Gary Ave.) in Carol Stream.

Interment will will be held privately.
