Joseph W. Davis, age 83, a resident of St. Charles, IL, died Wednesday, November 26, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born August 18, 1925 in Dothan, AL.

Joe worked for Central Soya in Chicago for 33 years. He retired from Continental White Cap in Chicago. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He was known as Mr. Fix-it and could fix just about anything.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; three children, Mike Davis of Joliet, IL, JoAnne (Frank) Battista of Oswego, IL, and Chris (Ken Kelderhouse) Baer of Lockport, IL; ten grandchildren, Tracey (Thom) Croy, Jackie (Mike) Falbo, Cathy Davis, Joe (Katie) Battista, Tony (Lisa) Battista, Franco Battista, Phillip Davis, Jason (Ginger) Davis, Kellie Davis, and Garrett (Jessica) Baer. "Papa Joe" is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Christian Battista, Abby Falbo, Summer Baer, Dominic Battista, and Zachary Croy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; his daughter-in-law, Lilian; and 12 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of a service at 11:00 A.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
