Joseph C. Bicchinella, age 84, a longtime resident of West Chicago, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at home with his wife by his side.  He was born December 25, 1934 in Chicago to Ignazio and Mary Bicchinella.

Joe grew up in Forest Park. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.  He went on to graduate from Elmhurst College with a degree in accounting.  He married Joyce Zolecki on January 26, 1972.  They raised nine children in West Chicago.

He started his own business as a self-employed accountant.  He ran a successful business until he retired at the age of 74.

He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs. He authored several novels. He enjoyed travel and traveled the world.  His faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior was an important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bicchinella, nine children, Joy (Ted) Edminson of Geneva, Shelly (Mark) Hook of Canton, Cynthia (Bill) Duhm of Grand Haven, MI, Kelly (Tom) Balash of Downers Grove, Wendy (Alan) Keil of Los Lunas, NM, Michael (Mindy) Bicchinella of West Chicago, Rob (the late Z) Bicchinella of St. Charles, Gale (Mark) Seidler of Carol Stream, and Joseph (Dawn) Bicchinella of Anchorage, AK, 25 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, David Hook and great-grandchild Leeann Symanski.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 10:00 until the time of a funeral service at 11:30 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 1451 Raymond, Naperville, IL 60563.  Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
