Jonathan Lee Sneed, age 16, a resident of Wheaton, died unexpectedly in an accident on Thursday, August 3, while visiting family in Nebraska. He was born May 24, 1990 in Winfield, IL.
Jonathan was preparing to enter his junior year at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School where he played trombone in the Marching Band. He also was a member of the Youth and Government program and involved in the school theater program. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton where he was baptized and confirmed. He has played piano since the age of five. He was a joyful, gregarious young man who showed sensitivity to others. He was a great student and loved by many.
He is survived by his parents, Lee and Kathy; his sister, Elizabeth; his maternal grandparents, Anita and LaVerne Carson of Pappillion, NE; his aunts, Sue Carson of Omaha, NE, and Jane (Kevin) Wynn, also of Pappillion, NE; and his cousins, Zachary and Sara.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cora and Elbert Sneed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, from 3-9 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, corner of Jefferson and Ellis Streets, in Wheaton. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
